Macclesfield art group annual exhibition starts this Friday 18th October till 26th October at Macclesfield library . During library opening times. Preview evening is Thursday 17th 7pm-9pm.
Paintings, 2025 calendar, cards, crafts for sale, original artwork by local artists. 35 of our members including our founder member who started the group in 1948 have each painted scenes from around the Macclesfield area which have been compiled into 2 montages. These will be raffled throughout the course of the exhibition at the Library (18 - 25 October) and at the Treacle Market on Sunday 27 October with proceeds divided between two local charities (1) Ward 9 at Macclesfield Hospital. Ward 9 is an acute care of the elderly ward specialising in dementia and (2) Windyway Trust - a Macclesfield Charity supporting the work of Windyway Animal Rescue and the Search and Rescue dogs of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Teams. You will be able to see the montages on display together with over 200 paintings plus cards, crafts and our now-famous calendar available to purchase; and buy raffle tickets (£2 each with a chance to win one of these two unique montages).
Stephen gave us an interesting and entertaining presentation showing how we see things followed by a watercolour demonstration
