Stewart discussed the finer points of Framing and gave a thought provoking session looking at the relationship to the painting to be framed, the mount and the frame/moulding. He also showed the audience a number of framed paintings and invited comments and critique as to what the audience liked or disliked regarding the finished article. Needless to say there were mixed comments which tended to support Stewart's opening statement "there are no rules" At tonight's meeting John gave us an interesting and entertaining demonstration of line and wash as well as bringing along his sketch books for us to look at.
Many thanks to John for a very enjoyable evening
At tonight's meeting member Sue Doyle gave a demonstration using acrylic inks to create vibrant images with strong bright colours. Afterwards members were given the chance to experiment themselves wit advice from Sue..
Two artists, two halves, one final painting – it’s that simple!
You paint half, and pass it on to a friend to complete the other half. Bingo – you’ve got a final painting that’s double the creativity and double the fun! THis was the challenge set by the SAA Postcard Partners competition and some of the entries from our mebers are shown above. Our 2016 Exhibition was opened by David Rutley, MP at the preview evening last Thursday Evening. Pictured with David are members Sheila King and Brenda Hooper.
